F1 team leaders expressed their support for Stefano Domenicali as a suitable candidate to succeed Chase Carey as the new F1 CEO.
F1团队负责人表示支持Stefano Domenicali作为接任Chase Carey成为F1新任首席执行官的合适人选。
The former Ferrari team leader has not yet received official confirmation, but F1 sources are already convinced that he will start this work next year and Carey will continue to hold different positions.
Domenicali, 55, has held multiple positions since leaving Ferrari in 2014 and is currently the CEO of Lamborghini, a subsidiary of Volkswagen Group.
Red Bull’s Christian Horner said: “The news about Stefano seems to be a fairly open secret. If he can play this role, I think it will be very helpful for the sport. He is a good guy, when he is When the Ferrari team leader, he competed with him."
"He is very upright, he is a competitor, and he understands the industry. Obviously, he has been in the business world outside of F1 in the past few years. He has performed very well in Lamborghini and I think he will be a big asset for F1. ."
Horner is not worried about another former Ferrari member holding a senior position in the sport.
"Look at the most high-end components of this sport. There are Todd, Ross Brown and Stefano. It looks like it was set in the mid-90s or early 21st century (Ferrari), but I don’t think these individuals have a strong interest in Ferrari. There is any particular prejudice or love. I believe that if Stefano takes over this role, he will be very careful to maintain justice.
"I think he will be a good candidate. He is a great guy. We faced him head-to-head in the 2010 and 2012 championships. He is always very upright. He is a gentleman and he will be this. An asset of the sport, an asset of freedom. He has such an understanding, and I think that as the sport develops, he will bring many benefits."
McLaren team leader Andreas Seidl (Andreas Seidl) knew Domenicali very well in the Porsche era. At that time, Domenicali was involved in evaluating the Volkswagen Group's future motor sports projects.
Seidel said: "If Tsaiche decides to leave at some point, or think he has had enough of all of us, then I think Stefano is definitely a good choice and we will very much support him in taking this position. ."
"During my work at Porsche, I personally worked with Stefano, when we were working on a special project. Stefano used his experience to help me a lot to work on that project."
"I think highly of him, not only because of his experience in all these different jobs so far, but also because of his as a person, a character, a person who loves motorsports."
"I think he has so much experience, he has run a track in Mugello, and has done different jobs in Ferrari, including the main position in the team. As the CEO of Lamborghini, I think he is a good choice. ."
Renault team leader Abitbol said: "If it happens, Stefano has a lot to offer in this position."
"What I said is obvious, but he knows the sport very well, he knows how the sport supports the manufacturers, Lamborghini is not in F1 but he also knows why they are not in F1, so I think he has a different And interesting views to provide."
"I think what we need is strong management as always. There is no need to be too pessimistic about the direction of things. Anyone who enters this position will have a lot of topics on the agenda, whether it is Cai Che who continues to hold this position or a newcomer, because There are many topics."
"We need a very strong, dedicated, sports-knowledgeable person, and a strong team by his side. I hope Cai Che can stay, because I think he has a lot to offer."
